TNF-Excellence Award presented to Ms. Pamela Walsh, at TNF 2005 conference at Dallas, Tx.
This years TNF Conference -2005, was special in many ways. This was organized jointly by Tamilnadu Foundation, FeTNA, NTYO and Dallas MTA. This was one of the very well attended conferences. The Programs mostly went on schedule which every one who attended the Conference noted with appreciation.
For Tamilnadu Foundation, it was special in one another way. This year the Board of Directors of Tamilnadu Foundation choose Mrs. Pamela Walsh, TNF’s long time donor to be the worthy recipient of the TNF Excellence award.
TNF Excellence award was instituted during early 90s with an idea to recognize the excellent and pioneering work done by individuals in the area of Social Service, Upliftment of the downtrodden and touching the lives of the underprivileged and living up to the goals of Tamilnadu Foundation. The first award was presented to Prof. M Anandakrishnan in the year during the TNF Conference at Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The Award presentation function was preceded by outstanding power point presentation by TNF Inc. TN Chapter Secretary, Mr. P. Chandrasekaran highlighting the Projects carried out over the years with the help of Friends of India headed by Mrs. Pamela Walsh. Later Prof. Anandakrishnan read the citation pointed out that Mrs. Walsh was greatly impressed by the transparency of TNF operations, happy with the TNF’s help delivery and reporting system. He also thanked Mrs. Walsh for introducing Tamilnadu Foundation for other Funding Organizations like Hacin Family Foundation, CIVA etc. Then presented the TNF Excellence Award to Mrs. Walsh.
Then, Mrs. Walsh was requested to deliver her acceptance speech which was very well received by the audience who gave a standing ovation for her contribution to the ideals of Tamilnadu Foundation, her care concern and compassion for the people of Tamilnadu.
In his vote of thanks, the out going President thanked Mrs. Walsh for accepting the award and for going over to Dallas to accept the award in presence and for honoring every Member of TNF by her gracious presence.
