Training has helped Sridevi to support her family's small income

Sridevi’s future was turned around through support from Friends of India. An above-average student, her widowed mother struggled to support Sridevi and a brother with Down’s Syndrome. There was pressure for Sridevi to take on menial labour to supplement the family’s meager income.

Thanks to a Friend’s of India’s partner, SUEB, Sridevi received a scholarship to qualify as a computer operator and typist. Now 21, Sridevi holds a responsible position at a local software company with a wage that has improved her family’s living standards.
